Mostly, there are two types based on histological features as follows: extravasation and retention. Diagnosis is mostly based on clinical findings. The most common location of the extravasation mucocele is the lower lip. Mucoceles most probably affect young patients, but can affect all the age groups. The treatment of choice is surgical excision of the mucocele.
